1. Who We Are
Evalation Lab is published by Evalation LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of Idaho, United States.
When this Privacy Policy refers to "Evalation," "we," "us," or "our," it means Evalation LLC. When it refers to "you" or "your," it means you — the contractor or business professional using the Evalation Lab iOS application.
Evalation Lab is a professional tool designed for residential deck contractors. It is not intended for personal, household, or consumer use.
2. What We Collect and Why
We collect two categories of information: account and device information, and project data you create inside the app.

Payment Information
Evalation LLC does not directly collect or store your credit card number, bank account details, or payment credentials. Subscription payments are processed by Apple (via the App Store) or Stripe (via our web checkout). Those providers have their own privacy policies governing how payment data is handled. We receive only confirmation of your subscription status — not your payment details.
3. Project and Design Data
The following project-level data is collected when you create designs and estimates in Evalation Lab. This data is used exclusively to improve the product and generate aggregate, anonymous industry insights. It is never shared with third parties, never sold, and never used to identify or profile individual contractors or their clients.

4. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect for the following purposes:
- Providing the service. To operate Evalation Lab, authenticate your subscription, and deliver the features you pay for.
- Improving the product. To understand how the app is used, identify friction points, and prioritize new features. All product analytics use aggregated, anonymized data — individual contractor records are not reviewed or analyzed.
- Technical support. To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and respond to support requests.
- Product communications. To send you important updates about the app, changes to this policy, or new features. You can opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
- Subscription management. To manage your trial period, billing, and plan status in conjunction with Apple and Stripe.
- Building aggregate industry benchmarks. To generate anonymized insights such as regional average deck sizes, common material selections, and typical estimate ranges. These benchmarks may be used internally to improve Evalation's AI and structural engine features. They are never published or shared in any form that could identify individual contractors or projects.
5. What We Never Do With Your Data
- Sell your data to any third party, under any circumstances
- Share your project data, estimate amounts, or margin settings with competitors, suppliers, or any external business
- Use your data to serve you advertisements inside or outside of Evalation Lab
- Allow advertisers to access or target you based on your Evalation data
- Share individual contractor records with other contractors
- Disclose client property addresses or project locations to any party outside of Evalation LLC
- Use your margin setting to benchmark or compare your pricing against other contractors in any identifiable way
Evalation Lab is an ad-free product. There are no advertising networks, ad trackers, or third-party ad SDKs in the app. Revenue comes entirely from subscriptions.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account and project data for as long as your subscription is active or as needed to provide the service.
If you cancel your subscription and request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days of receiving your request. Aggregate, anonymized data derived from your usage (containing no personally identifiable information) may be retained indefinitely as part of our product analytics dataset.
Crash logs and technical diagnostic data are retained for a maximum of 90 days.
8. Your Rights
Regardless of where you are located, you have the following rights with respect to your data:
- Access. You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction. You can request that we correct inaccurate personal data.
- Deletion. You can request that we delete your personal data. We will honor deletion requests within 30 days subject to any legal retention obligations.
- Portability. You can request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Opt-out of communications. You can opt out of non-essential product emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.

9. California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with additional rights regarding your personal information.
Categories of Personal Information We Collect
In the preceding 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information as defined by the CCPA: identifiers (email address, device ID), commercial information (subscription records), and professional or employment-related information (project data related to your contracting business).
We Do Not Sell Personal Information
Evalation LLC does not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA. We do not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your CCPA Rights
- The right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell
- The right to delete personal information we have collected from you
- The right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell data)
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights

10. Children's Privacy
Evalation Lab is a professional business tool intended for use by adults operating contracting businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
11. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (TLS), access controls limiting who within Evalation LLC can access personal data, and use of reputable, SOC 2-compliant service providers.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we take the protection of your data seriously, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the product evolves or as legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending you an email notification or displaying an in-app notice.
Your continued use of Evalation Lab after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with a material change, you may cancel your subscription and request deletion of your account.
